An interesting document and I have some questions but this one first. I see that on pages 12 and 14, item 2 which relates to the installation method against manufacturers specifications that “if the installation is incorrect or…..” then the risk is not stated as a “fail” but as an “advise of risk”. Should a fire damper be fixed with steel screws, it runs contrary to all manufacturers installation specifications (and should therefore be failed) and if no other form of break away joint is installed, then it is also installed contrary to BS9999 and should therefore be failed. Is this an oversight or is it a reasoned standpoint?
